La Cañada Observatory, is an initiative by Juan Lacruz, the observatory started astrometric operations in the summer of 2002, it is registered as station J87 in the Minor Planet Center of the International Astronomical Union.
The Observatory also participates in the studies on minor bodies promoted by the Group on Meteorites, Minor Bodies, and Planetary Sciences of the Institute of Space Sciences (CSIC-IEEC).

Confirmation of comet C/2011 J2 (LINEAR)
An object posted on the NEOCP displayed faint cometary activity.

An apparently asteroidal object discovered by the LINEAR survey (discovery
observation tabulated below), and posted on the Minor Planet Center's NEOCP
webpage, has been found by other CCD astrometrists to show cometary appearance.
Juan Lacruz (Madrid, Spain) writes that sixty stacked 30-s images taken with a
0.40-m reflector at La Canada on May 5.9 UT show a diffuse object about 10"
wide that is slightly elongated toward the southeast (but no distinct tail)......
These observatory J87 confirming observations have been conducted remotely over the internet.

Calibración de filtros para fotometría multicolor, La Cañada 2011-abril-28
Revisando los temas de calibración de filtros para la fotometría multicolor, esta pasada noche que no era ni remotamente fotométrica, he aprovechado para sacar este campo con estrellas de referencia Landolt para ver como se daba.
La fotometría es de un único campo por lo que no se considera extinción y se puede tomar como ejemplo de fotometria diferencial.
Aparte de muchos números lo que se ve claramente es lo que se puede esperar de este tipo de observaciones :
1 - El campo solo contiene 6 referencias y es uno de los más nutridos. Por eso M67 es perfecto para calibrar.
2 - En V y B los errores crecen de forma considerable, habría que alargar mucho las exposiciones en estos filtros para mantener bajo el error.
3 - Que éste método solo considera correciones de primer orden y que no se debe esperar una precisión mejor que las centésimas de magnitud, que por otra parte está más que bien.
4 - Que con el CMC-14 en filtro V la medida directa que da astrométrica acierta en la decima de magnitud.

En el cuadro de la izquierda aparecen las magnitudes estandar según catálogo y a la derecha los resultados de tomar como referencia la estrella número 1.
